The Child Profile in LuniMuni: What Each Field Changes in the Stories
LuniMuni writes every story from the child's profile. The name makes your child the hero, the age decides how the story is written, the favorite story types and the parent notes go to the storyteller, and the appearance goes only to the cover, never into the story's words; the story languages decide which languages your child can pick. No birth date and no photo are kept.
How do I add a child?
LuniMuni keeps the profiles in the parent area (behind the grown-ups gate), under "Child Profiles". "Add Child" adds another child; each gets their own profile and their own bookshelf.
What do the name and age change?
LuniMuni puts your child into every story as its active hero, by the name in the profile. The age is 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 or 8+, and the storyteller writes for that exact age. Gender is optional; "Prefer not to say" is one of the choices.
What does the appearance change?
LuniMuni's "Appearance" is optional: "Describe hair, eyes, distinctive features, etc. This helps create personalized stories.", up to 500 characters. Or tap "Upload Photo": AI writes a description from the photo, which you review and edit; the photo is used for the description and is not kept. The appearance shapes the cover only; the story's words never describe how your child looks. Your child appears on the story covers only when an appearance is described. Without one, the cover leaves your child out.
What do favorite story types change?
LuniMuni offers six "Favorite story types": Funny, Educational, Adventure, Magic, Mystery and Bedtime Stories. You can pick several; each story takes one of them, drawn at random. With "Bedtime Stories" among them, every story is told as a bedtime story, whatever the time of day. A type is how a story is told (funny, as a mystery), never what it is about: what a story is about comes from your child's idea.
What are parent notes for?
LuniMuni's "Parent notes (optional)" asks you to "Add special context for stories: hobbies, pets, siblings, interests, etc." The app's own example reads "has a pet dog named Max, loves space and rockets, learning about sharing". What is going on in your child's life belongs here too, a fear of the doctor or learning to share. The notes tell the storyteller about your child: a pet or a sibling from the notes may appear in a story, and a lesson like sharing may be what your child learns in it. What each story is about still comes from your child's idea. The storyteller never gives your child a sibling, a parent, another relative or a pet that the profile does not mention.
Which languages can my child pick?
LuniMuni's "Story languages" lists the languages your child can make stories in; with more than one, your child picks one for each story on the Create screen. Setting them up, and how a bilingual family uses them: stories in 15 languages.
Is the profile checked like a story idea?
LuniMuni runs the child's name, the parent notes and the appearance text through the same safety checks as a child's idea (the checks on every story).
What does LuniMuni store about my child?
LuniMuni stores, for each child: first name, age, optional gender, avatar, story types, optional appearance text, optional parent notes and story languages. There is no birth date and no photo in it. What else the app stores, and what it never stores: parent controls.
