Questions Parents Ask
Does LuniMuni keep my child's photos or voice recordings?
No. LuniMuni uses a photo, drawing or voice recording only to make the story, then discards it: it is not saved to your account or to our storage. A voice note is turned into text, and the app deletes its copy from your device. What stays is the story itself: its text, cover, narration and read-along timing.
What does LuniMuni know about my child?
What you put in your child's profile, and the stories they make. The profile holds a first name or nickname and an age, plus what you choose to add: gender, an avatar, the kinds of stories they like, story languages, a short description of their looks for the covers and notes for the stories. LuniMuni also keeps each story your child makes and the stickers they earn, never asks for a birth date, a location or contacts, and keeps no photo of your child.
Is my child's data used to train AI?
No. LuniMuni trains no AI models of its own, and our agreements with the AI companies that write, draw and narrate the stories do not allow them to train theirs on what we send. The companies keep requests only briefly, as our Privacy Policy sets out.
Are there ads in LuniMuni?
No. LuniMuni has no ads and no advertising or cross-app tracking, and we do not sell anyone's data. The app is paid for by subscriptions, after 3 free stories.
Can my child chat with anyone in LuniMuni?
No. LuniMuni has no chat with an AI or with other people, no messages, no public profiles and no sharing. A child gives an idea and gets a story back, and the story stays in your family's account.
How does LuniMuni check stories?
Up to eight checks run while a story is made. The child's idea passes a word filter in 15 languages, a safety model and a guard against tricks aimed at the AI, and a photo and its description are checked too. The finished story, its title and its cover are checked again: a story whose text fails never reaches your child and does not count against your plan, a failed title is replaced, and a failed cover is left off. If an idea trips a check, LuniMuni keeps a short text sample of it for a year so the block can be reviewed, never the picture or the recording.
Can I read a story before my child sees it?
Yes. Turn on review in the parent area, and each new story waits for your approval. You read the text and see the cover, then approve the story or decline it and say why. Review is off when you start, so new stories go straight to the bookshelf until you turn it on.
Which companies process our data?
Three AI companies help make each story. Anthropic writes the story text, and Google writes it only when Anthropic's service fails; Google also reads photos and drawings, makes the cover, records the narration and summarizes a series for its next chapter; OpenAI turns voice notes into text and runs the safety checks. Our Privacy Policy lists every provider and exactly what each receives.
Where is our data stored?
LuniMuni keeps your data in the EU: your account, your children's profiles and your stories are stored in Stockholm, our servers run in Germany, and analytics and crash reports stay in the EU too. The AI companies that make the stories process requests in the United States or worldwide, under safeguards such as the EU's Standard Contractual Clauses.
How do I delete our data?
Everything can be deleted from the app. Delete a story from the story itself, and a child's profile, with all its stories, or the whole account in the parent area. Deleting the account asks for a code we email you, then removes your account, profiles, stories, narration and covers at once, with no undo. A paid plan is billed by Apple, so cancel it in your App Store settings as well.
Does LuniMuni follow COPPA and the GDPR?
LuniMuni is designed to align with COPPA, the US children's privacy law, and with the GDPR's protections for children. Accounts belong to parents, children never have accounts of their own, and we keep only what our Privacy Policy lists. LuniMuni is made in the EU.
