Which devices does LuniMuni run on?
LuniMuni runs on iPhone and iPad with iOS 15 or later, from the App Store. An Android version is coming: leave your email on our home page and we will tell you when it is ready.
Who makes LuniMuni?
LuniMuni is made by SIA Karto, a small company in Riga, Latvia, founded in 2025 by Kate, a software developer and mom.
Is LuniMuni free?
LuniMuni is free to download, and every account gets 3 free stories with no card needed, plus 16 LuniMuni Stories that are always free to read. To make more stories, you choose a plan; the first time, it starts with a 7-day free trial.
Making Stories
How does the photo-to-story feature work?
Simply take a photo of anything - a drawing, favorite toy, pet, or scene from imagination. Our AI analyzes the image and creates a personalized story featuring those elements, with your child as the hero. The process takes about a minute from photo to finished story.
What if my child can't draw yet?
No problem! Take a photo of their favorite toy, stuffed animal, or anything that inspires them. Children can also record a voice message describing their story idea, or parents can type a few words to get started. Every input method creates equally magical stories.
How long does it take to make a story?
A LuniMuni story is usually ready in about a minute. Your child can wait with Luni's catch game or leave the screen, and the story appears on the bookshelf when it is done.
How long are the stories?
LuniMuni stories are short: up to about 250 words, one to two minutes when read aloud. That is long enough for a real story and short enough for a small child to listen to the end. A favorite story can go on in a new chapter.
Is my child in the stories?
Yes. In the stories your child makes, LuniMuni writes your child in as the main character, by name. Describe how your child looks in their profile, and they appear on the covers too; without a description, the covers show the story's other characters.
Can we continue a story?
Yes. At the end of a story your child made, LuniMuni offers to continue it, and one tap writes the next chapter with the same characters. The chapters become a series with its own place on the bookshelf, and each new chapter counts as one story.
What are LuniMuni Stories?
LuniMuni Stories are 16 stories that come with the app, about Luni, a lavender cloud, and a girl named Mira. They are ready to read from the first minute, narrated in all 15 languages, free, and never count against a plan. They show children how a story can be born from a voice, a doodle or a simple idea.
Can I choose what the stories are about?
Your child's idea leads each story. In the profile you can pick the kinds of stories your child likes and add notes, such as a pet's name, a hobby, a fear of the doctor or learning to share, and LuniMuni weaves them in where they fit.
Reading and Listening
Does LuniMuni read the stories aloud?
Yes. Every LuniMuni story is narrated in its own language, with background music under the voice. Each word lights up as it is read, so a child can follow along, and you can skip back or forward 10 seconds. Your child can pick another track, though the music cannot be switched off.
Is LuniMuni good for bedtime?
Yes. LuniMuni stories are short, one to two minutes read aloud, and from seven in the evening the app turns to a night sky while Luni winds down. Choose Bedtime Stories as the kind of story in your child's profile, and every story they make is a bedtime story.
Does LuniMuni work offline?
Saved stories work offline. In the parent area you choose which stories to keep on the device: favorites and LuniMuni Stories are saved by default, and all stories if you like. Making a new story needs an internet connection.
Languages and Families
Can I use LuniMuni in languages other than English?
Yes! LuniMuni supports 15 languages: English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Latvian, Portuguese, Russian, Swedish, Danish, Norwegian, Finnish, Dutch, Ukrainian, and Turkish. Each child's profile has its story languages, and your child picks one of them for every story.
Can multiple children use one account?
Yes. Parents can create separate profiles for each child, and stories are personalized to each child's name and age. Each child gets their own library of stories.
Can my child use LuniMuni alone?
LuniMuni is made for children to use with a parent nearby. A parent signs up and sets up the profile; after that, a child can make a story by speaking or taking a photo, without reading or writing, and read or listen on their own. Settings and plans sit behind a gate for grown-ups, and you can turn on review to read each new story first.
Safety
Is LuniMuni safe for my child?
Yes. We use AI content filtering, don't store photos or voice recordings, and follow privacy-first principles. Parents control everything through their account. Every story is automatically checked for age-appropriate content before being presented to your child.
Does LuniMuni keep my child's photos or voice recordings?
No. LuniMuni uses a photo, drawing or voice recording only to make the story, then discards it: it is not saved to your account or to our storage. A voice note is turned into text, and the app deletes its copy from your device. What stays is the story itself: its text, cover, narration and read-along timing.
Are there ads in LuniMuni?
No. LuniMuni has no ads and no advertising or cross-app tracking, and we do not sell anyone's data. The app is paid for by subscriptions, after 3 free stories.
Can I read a story before my child sees it?
Yes. Turn on review in the parent area, and each new story waits for your approval. You read the text and see the cover, then approve the story or decline it and say why. Review is off when you start, so new stories go straight to the bookshelf until you turn it on.
Pricing
How much does LuniMuni cost?
LuniMuni starts with 3 free stories, with no card needed. After that, Basic costs €10.99 a month for 30 stories and Active €15.99 a month for 50, or €74.99 and €99.99 a year.
How does the free trial work?
Each plan starts with a 7-day free trial with up to 10 stories, once per Apple account. You add a payment method when the trial starts, and the plan begins at its price when the 7 days end, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before. The 3 free stories are separate and need no card at all.
What happens to my stories if I cancel?
Your family's stories stay yours forever, even if you cancel your subscription. They stay in your library, ready to read and listen to.
