What LuniMuni Does at Bedtime
LuniMuni turns its screens to night from 7 pm to 6 am by the device's clock: the sky goes from day to night, the page dims, and the words show light on dark. Luni winds down with it, yawning and dozing off sooner. A "Theme" setting in the parent area keeps this automatic or fixes the look to "Light" or "Dark".
When does LuniMuni switch to night?
LuniMuni follows the device's clock. The evening colors begin an hour before night: from 6 pm the sky turns to the sunset's peach and pink. From 7 pm to 6 am the child's screens are in night: a deep night sky with a crescent moon, a dimmed page and navigation bar. At 6 am the day sky returns.
What does a story look like at night?
LuniMuni's reader shows the words light on dark at night, and the word being read lights up in star yellow (the read-along light). The stories themselves do not change: the same bookshelf, the same reader, the same narration; only the colors and Luni do.
What does the Theme setting do?
LuniMuni's "Theme" setting has three choices: "Auto" ("Dark from 7 PM to 6 AM"), "Light" and "Dark". "Auto" is the default and follows the clock. "Light" keeps the day look at every hour; "Dark" keeps the night look at every hour.
- Open the parent area (behind the grown-ups gate).
- Under "Preferences", tap "Theme".
- Pick "Auto", "Light" or "Dark".
Is there a bedtime story type?
LuniMuni has "Bedtime Stories" among the six favorite story types in a child's profile (the child profile). With "Bedtime Stories" among your child's types, every story is told as a bedtime story, at any time of day. The two are separate: the night look comes from the clock or the "Theme" setting, the bedtime story type from the profile.
Can we listen at bedtime without internet?
LuniMuni plays stories kept on the device under "Downloads" without a connection (read-along and music).
Does Luni change at bedtime?
Luni, the LuniMuni mascot, winds down at bedtime whatever theme is picked: slower breaths, yawns, dozing off sooner, a soft wiggle instead of a cheer, and a softer voice. When nobody plays with Luni, it gets sleepy and dozes off. We built it this way for one reason: a mascot that calms down at bedtime doesn't hype a child up.
